Physical changes such as reduced strength, balance and mobility commonly occur with ageing and may affect independence in daily activities.
At Bokamoso Mthimkulu Biokineticist, we support older adults through structured and individualised exercise programmes aimed at improving strength, mobility, balance and overall functional ability.
Our approach focuses on helping individuals maintain confidence with movement, continue participating in daily activities and support long-term physical independence.
We also incorporate balance and stability training aimed at reducing fall risk and supporting safer movement in everyday life.
All individuals undergo a comprehensive initial assessment to evaluate movement, functional ability, medical history and rehabilitation goals.
Following the assessment, a feedback session is conducted to discuss the findings, outline the rehabilitation plan and provide appropriate home-based exercises where necessary.
Treatment sessions are typically scheduled once or twice weekly, depending on the individual’s needs and rehabilitation goals. Home exercise programmes are regularly reviewed and adjusted to support ongoing progress.
Reassessments are completed periodically to monitor progress, evaluate functional improvements and make any necessary adjustments to the rehabilitation programme.
